12th Rise of the Phoenix ஜ Voice
[The feed starts with a barking wolf cub staring at the open journal on the floor. The image isn't clear but it seems as if the book has fell. The animal paws all over it, sniffing at it before it starts to bite it and tear pages out as if it was a chewing toy.
At least until Ikki spots his pet. Two hands grab the animal, holding it in the air and shifting to hold it as a baby before he recovers the journal and puts it on the table.]
Stupid animal, what part of this does look like a boot?!
[He shakes the wolf lightly, but all he gets in response to the scolding is a bark and a lick on the face.]
Whatever... Can't believe it'll soon be a year since you're here. Guess it was time you broke something for real.
[Ikki looks at the journal, checking it.]
Is this still working or I'm going to have to find a mechanic? Or whoever would fix this book, I don't think a librarian would do.

[Voice]
[He can't say he's surprised by that.]
Do you? I hope it's not such an annoyance as this one is.
[Voice]
... And... Carbon is h-hardly an annoyance. Though I must still confess, it is... s-strange to have an animal companion. It is... v-very strange, where I come from...
[There are very few domestics left, back on Terra.]
[Voice]
... Carbon... Is that your pet?
[What kind of name is that.]
[Voice]
... Yes. She is... a d-domestic cat, one of the kittens of my housemates' former cat and... a-another cat entirely.
[Speaking of which, she's currently in the background, staring curiously at the journal through bright green eyes. She might even show up in the photo... just curiously watching.]
... Cats seem... f-fitting, for this household.
[Voice]
[No, really, he's stuck with that. And he thought his naming was bad with Hyoga...]
Fitting? Why? Are you all cat lovers?
[Voice]
... I thought it... a-appropriate.
[Yes, he is... strange.]
... And I suppose we are... Especially considering Klunk's f-former presence.
[Voice]
[Come on, it almost sounds like that.]
I take Klunk was a cat.
[That's also a strange name but not so much as Carbon.]
[Voice]
[He's taking this literally, of course.]
... Ah. Yes... he c-certainly was. An... o-orange cat, specifically.
[Voice]
You really did that... I was being rhetorical.
[Also he's imagining Robert tying the animal to a lab table and studying her before coming up with the name.]
Then you all have experience with one already, that's convenient.
[Voice]
... Ah, I s-see...
[Awkwardly:] I... s-suppose it is. Most Terrans... d-do not keep domestics, though. In fact, it would be... v-very expensive...
[Voice]
[Voice]
... And... m-most domestics are... nearly gone. [Especially farm animals. Those are almost unheard of on Terra.]
[Voice]
[Voice]
[Voice]
[He doesn't care about the reproductive habits of Terrans, one or two children sounds good for him anyway. Better than having a hundred of them with different women.]
