[The feed starts with a barking wolf cub staring at the open journal on the floor. The image isn't clear but it seems as if the book has fell. The animal paws all over it, sniffing at it before it starts to bite it and tear pages out as if it was a chewing toy.

At least until Ikki spots his pet. Two hands grab the animal, holding it in the air and shifting to hold it as a baby before he recovers the journal and puts it on the table.]

Stupid animal, what part of this does look like a boot?!

[He shakes the wolf lightly, but all he gets in response to the scolding is a bark and a lick on the face.]

Whatever... Can't believe it'll soon be a year since you're here. Guess it was time you broke something for real.

[Ikki looks at the journal, checking it.]

Is this still working or I'm going to have to find a mechanic? Or whoever would fix this book, I don't think a librarian would do.

[ for a moment Kotomi sounds almost sad as she starts talking (that poor book, she feels so bad for it..) but then her tone return to her more neutral blank one. ]

This book is a little different from most books though. Normally there would be people who could fix a book, but this journal is a little special.

[The book will survive. At least it seems he can still hear people and it's not as if he uses it terribly much to begin with.]

"Little" special sounds like an understatement. How many books have you seen that can send voice, image, make filters and whatever before?

Also, she's a little quiet, as if she's actually seriously considering that question. There's a bit of a thoughtful hum. ] ... I haven't seen any before that could do that.

Well, there's gotta be some kinda machinery in these things, so a mechanic sounds about right.

I b-believe the journals, er... have a l-limited form of self-repairing mechanisms anyway. So it... m-may eventually cease to be an issue.

[Still, that wolf cub must've had some reason to chew on the journal...]

Yeah, he is... Maybe he's already a year old, I got him at the end of December last year and he was a few days old I think.

I suppose so, it's not as if I use this thing that much. But it would have been annoying to have it not working.
