[The feed starts with a barking wolf cub staring at the open journal on the floor. The image isn't clear but it seems as if the book has fell. The animal paws all over it, sniffing at it before it starts to bite it and tear pages out as if it was a chewing toy.

At least until Ikki spots his pet. Two hands grab the animal, holding it in the air and shifting to hold it as a baby before he recovers the journal and puts it on the table.]

Stupid animal, what part of this does look like a boot?!

[He shakes the wolf lightly, but all he gets in response to the scolding is a bark and a lick on the face.]

Whatever... Can't believe it'll soon be a year since you're here. Guess it was time you broke something for real.

[Ikki looks at the journal, checking it.]

Is this still working or I'm going to have to find a mechanic? Or whoever would fix this book, I don't think a librarian would do.

A laptop. A computer that small can't be very useful, can it? Not that I understand shit about computers though.

It's just the opposite. Because of its small, lightweight size, it's portable and can come anywhere.

I can see it being practical, but don't computers require a lot of pieces to work and run their programs and whatever? Like books, you can't really fit an encyclopedia in a small, light book of two pages without making the letters so small that it's basically impossible to read. Which makes it pretty useless.

These days, technology has advanced to the point of letting them be that small without sacrificing function. However, laptops or handheld computers tend to be somewhat more expensive as a result.

That's right. A desktop model is still usually cheaper, but many people have laptops for the convenience.

[Ikki makes a humming noise. He can't imagine many people having computers, mostly because he can't see how a computer could be useful for anyone outside work. Of course the only computers he has ever seen were the ones used by the Kido Corporation at the tournament, which isn't a great example.]
